Recent migrants from China are looking to save themselves a fortune by picking up raw land at Hobsonville.
Those migrants have snapped up nearly 300 new land parcels since early last year and the agency selling all those sites says there’s one extremely good reason why it’s going on.
James Law, of James Law Realty, said his firm had sold the sections on the city’s northwestern fringes mainly to people who had recently arrived here from China and the move was being driven by sheer economics.
“They’re saving about $200,000 to $300,000,” Law explained of each completed house-and-land package at Hobsonville, compared to new house stock elsewhere in Auckland.
Law said his agency had sold the sections since early last year. Sections sold for about $350,000 and about $650,000.
“It’s cheaper for them to buy and then build rather than buy an existing house,” Law said of the buyers, 97 per cent of whom are recent Chinese migrants.(more…)
The Chinese government continues to carry out mass killings of innocent people in order to obtain their organs for transplants, a damning new report claims.
The report - by former Canadian politician David Kilgour, human rights lawyer David Matas, and journalist Ethan Gutmann - shows that organ transplants are carried out in China 10 times more than official government figures reveal.
“The (Communist Party) says the total number of legal transplants is about 10,000 per year. But we can easily surpass the official Chinese figure just by looking at the two or three biggest hospitals,” Matas said in a statement.
The report estimates that 60,000 to 100,000 organs are transplanted each year in Chinese hospitals.
Last week, a US congressional joint subcommittee convened a hearing on the illicit organ transfers, just two weeks after the House passed a resolution urging Beijing to stop harvesting organs from prisoners of conscience. (more…)
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker slammed UKIP leader Nigel Farage at the first European Parliament meeting since the Brexit vote on Tuesday, asking “why are you here?” and showing he will not be walked over when it comes to exit negotiations.
“To some extent I’m really surprised you are here,” Juncker said to the outspoken Brexit leader, who campaigned on a platform of taking back border control and who yesterdayapologised to New Zealandersfor Britain turning its back on them when it joined the ECC.
What we are seeing today with immigration may be pretty unusual. In 1850, as an example, around 900 immigrants made the journey to Christchurch, New Zealand.
http://www.firstfourships.co.nz/ They were leaving England in search of Land. Some had cash and some were ordinary workers, trying to improve their lot. They came on Sailing Ships, via South America and then to Canterbury. I think there were around 500 Maori people in the South Island at that time.
Land was the key. But it became a major problem. What could we export? So NZ went into a sort of slump until we managed to export frozen lamb to UK. Just South of Oamaru is where the first trial shipment was prepared and then sent by rail to Dunedin to sail to England, 15 February 1882.
The Prime Minister has raised the prospect of Chinese companies funding and building infrastructure in a bid to speed Auckland development.
He says an urban development authority is an option as is allowing companies - including from China - to directly fund and build some of the city’s infrastructure.
“If Auckland is going to grow at a consistently faster rate than it historically has, it needs to build the infrastructure to match that more ambitious growth rate,” Key said at a lunch hosted by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce. (more…)
Yesterday the British people stood up for their freedom. Today the world is a different place.
Celebrities and politicians swarmed television studios to plead with voters to stay in the EU. Anyone who wanted to leave was a fascist. Economists warned of total collapse if Britain left the European Union. Alarmist broadcasts threatened that every family would lose thousands of pounds a year if Brexit won.
Even Obama came out to warn Brits of the economic consequences of leaving behind the EU.
Every propaganda gimmick was rolled out. Brexit was dismissed, mocked and ridiculed. It was for lunatics and madmen. Anyone who voted to leave the benevolent bosom of the European Union was an ignorant xenophobe who had no place in the modern world. And that turned out to be most of Britain.
While Londonistan, that post-British city of high financial stakes and low Muslim mobs, voted by a landslide to remain, a decisive majority of the English voted to wave goodbye to the EU. 67% of Tower Hamlets, the Islamic stronghold, voted to stay in the EU. But to no avail. The will of the people prevailed. (more…)
On May 8, 1945 the shooting ended in Europe. But, shockingly, the war against Germany went on. Roosevelt, Stalin and Churchill had decreed that the German people must suffer-and suffer they did.
Driven from their homes, looted of their property, decimated by famine and disease, raped, robbed, and enslaved, millions of Germans-most of them women and children-bore the brunt of what Time magazine called “history’s most terrifying peace”.
Gruesome Harvestwas one of the first books in America to sound the alarm against the victor’s postwar war against the Germans. (more…)
