‘You suck Ray White’: Kiwis threaten boycott after agency signs deal with Chinese company

Uncategorized 4 Comments »

Ray White New Zealand is trying to assure Kiwis that a new partnership with China’s largest real estate agency isn’t designed to sell off more New Zealand homes to foreign buyers.

The company claims a recent Australian-led partnership with Chinese agency Lianjia, also known as Homelink, was established “in response to the increasing globalisation of the real estate industry”.

The agreement allows Ray White New Zealand and Australia to co-list its properties for sale with Lianjia, which has more than 6000 branches in over 25 cities in China and has an audience of around 260 million Chinese buyers. (more…)

China buys more of NZ’s primary sector

Uncategorized 2 Comments »

State-owned China Animal Husbandry will take a 72 percent stake in Mataura Valley Milk in exchange for funding construction of a $200 million milk powder manufacturing plant in Gore.

Work on the plant will start in October and follows eight years of work to get the project at McNab, north of Gore, off the ground. It will create at least 100 new jobs, the company said.

China Animal Husbandry Group will be the major investor while some 20 percent of the company will be held by Southland dairy farmers, 5.6 percent by Hamilton-based dairy business BODCO, and the remainder mostly by New Zealand investors. (more…)

· Pontiff urged Poland’s leaders to ‘overcome fear’ and welcome migrants

· Said opening doors to people requires ‘great wisdom and compassion’

· Fears run deep in Catholic nation that refugees could endanger security

· The Pope chastised right-wing government for refusing to share burden

Pope Francis has urged Poland’s leaders to ‘overcome fear’ and welcome desperate migrants fleeing conflict and hardship.

In his first speech in the city of Krakow, at the start of his five-day visit to the country, the Pontiff said opening doors to migrants requires ‘great wisdom and compassion’.

Francis chastised the right-wing Law and Justice government for refusing to share the burden during Europe’s worst refugee crisis since World War II.

Fears run deep in the strongly Catholic nation that Muslim refugees could endanger its security and erode its Christian traditions. (more…)

Ray White wants more Chinese buying NZ houses

Uncategorized 2 Comments »

Major New Zealand real estate chain Ray White has made a new linkup with China in a move led from its Australia headquarters.

The business here and in Australia has struck a deal with mega Chinese real estate business Lianjia.

Carey Smith, Ray White chief executive in New Zealand, said the new linkup was a move out of Australia.

“This is a move by Dan White, director, on behalf of Australia mainly,” Smith said today.

But prominent Labour MP, Phil Twyford, has expressed concern.

“If reflects a housing market where the Government not only is in denial about the impact of non-resident foreign buyers but has stubbornly refused to take any action to protect the interests of first home buyers. (more…)

Another attack on Europe - French Priest has his throat cut in church

Uncategorized 1 Comment »

An 84-year-old priest was killed in an attack during a hostage-taking situation at a church in northern France, near Rouen. ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack, carried out by two terrorists who were later killed by police.

Both attackers were killed by police snipers after running out of the church at one point during the standoff, an interior ministry spokesman said.

Police have also officially confirmed the death of one victim, who was “killed with a blade.”

Security forces have arrested one person allegedly linked to the attack, according to a source close to the investigation, as cited by Reuters.

Police earlier said they could not confirm the motive or the identities of the attackers.

In an official statement, France’s President Hollande called the attack a “terrorist act,” and said the attackers claimed a connection to IS. He added that France needs to battle against IS. (more…)

Shooting Spree in Munich Mall - Germany

Uncategorized 7 Comments »

Eight dead, attackers are on the run.

More details will be posted when they become known.

Some major news broadcasters are describing this as a possible right wing attack, I believe this is just anti-White bias and an unlikely scenariio as the gunman is an Iranian.

UPDATE

The shooter is pictured above, he is Ali Somboly, an Iranian. He shot himself after the attack leaving the final death total at 10.

Reports say that he was targeting Arabs, perhaps because he was bullied by them at school.

How wonderfully vibrant and diverse.

· Five rapes and numerous sexual assaults at Bravalla Festival in Norrköping

· Band tell fans they are appalled and gutted by hideous reports of attacks

· Mumford and Sons will not play festival again until police toughen up act

· It follows 35 sexual assaults on girls aged 12 to 17 at second Swedish gig

Grammy-winning Mumford and Sons have boycotted a Swedish music festival over what they call its disgustingly high rate of sexual violence.

The British band headlined Bravalla festival in Norrköping on the weekend, but have vowed not to return after music lovers reported five rapes and a number of sexual assaults.

On their official Facebook page, the band announced it would not be returning to Sweden, adding: ‘We’re appalled to hear what happened at the Bravalla Festival last weekend…We’re gutted by these hideous reports.’

It follows 35 sexual assaults on girls aged between 12 and 17 at the country’s Putte i Parken festival in Karlstad Friday and Saturday including Alexandra Larsson, who spoke exclusively to MailOnline. (more…)

German Public Say ‘Auf Wiedersehen’ To ‘Refugees Welcome’

Uncategorized 6 Comments »

A new study has revealed that German attitudes towards mass migration have dramatically shifted and that the era of “Refugees Welcome” may be coming to an end.

Germany has come a long way since the start of the migrant crisis last year that saw scenes of German men and women welcoming migrants at train stations, cheering them on and handing out teddy bears and food.

Terror attacks in Paris and Brussels, and a migrant crime epidemic which included the mass sexual assault of young women on New Year’s Eve in Cologne and across Germany have changed German attitudes drastically according to the findings of a socio-psychological study. The era of Willkommenskultur or ‘Welcome Culture’ may have come to an end, Zeit reports. (more…)

Attacks on Europe

It’s been many years since navigating my first college statistics course. One of the first understandings gleaned from which being the high probability that I was going to fail statistics. Fortunately for the innumerate, our own native faculties provide a rudimentary, though highly accurate, version of that discipline.

Without either a calculator or Nate Silver, most of us are able to ascertain with some reliability the likely outcomes of most given decision trees. And likelihood isn’t certainty–as angels aren’t washing in my bird bath.

That’s an important concept to keep in mind. I don’t in fact know that diving onto the lawn from my roof will result in a less pleasant afternoon than boating at the lake–as the latter could involve being mortally shaved by an outboard propeller. But life is just a series of decisions made with imperfect knowledge. And making those decisions based on preening rather than probability is what separates us from the bigots.
